The West Somerset Steam Railway Trust

Support the work of the Trust

There are two ways you can support the work of the Trust.

One way is to join the group of volunteers working on the restoration of the Trust’s carriages at Williton or welcoming visitors to the museum at Blue Anchor.

You are welcome to come and see what volunteering involves. Contact Chris Austin about carriage restoration and Pete Treharne about the museum.

The other way of supporting the Trust is to become a member. Although membership was originally restricted to fifty, this limit was removed when the Trust updated its Articles in 2014.

Become a member

Anyone making a minimum donation to the Trust can apply to be a member. The minimum donation is currently £1 a month (£12 a year). You may find it convenient to make your donation by Standing Order.
As a member, you are entitled to attend and vote at general meetings of the Trust. You will also receive a personal copy of the Trust’s six monthly newsletter, sent by email or post as you prefer.
If you are a taxpayer, the Trust is able to reclaim income tax currently equivalent to 25% of your donation. If you are a higher rate taxpayer, you can also reduce your own tax bill.
