At the Gauge Museum

Keep calm and carry on. With the future of the Trust under debate, volunteers prepare for the first visitors to the Gauge Museum. Curator Geoff Evens (on the right) restores the old first aid cabinet, while volunteers Ray Clack and Richard Gibb continue the task of painting the picket fence prior to mounting a display of GWR posters on it.

A glimpse of the future at the Gauge Museum. The back wall of Powderham Signal Box showing original artefacts and a new interpretation board. Pick up the phone and you now hear local voices talking about their experiences of the railway pre-1971, while the sound of a steam train fills the cabin.
